Make sure to have a stable internet connection during the installation process.

Additionally, if you have registered an account on our website or RORO app, you can find the eSIM installation information in the My SIMs section.

  3. How do I choose between a fixed data plan and an unlimited data plan?
    • Fixed Data Plan: Great for short trips or if you have a specific usage in mind (e.g., checking emails, light browsing). It’s a budget-friendly choice that allows you to control costs. You pay only for the data you need without overspending. However, if you exceed the limit, you may need to top-up.

    • Unlimited Data Plan: Ideal for longer trips, heavy usage (streaming, GPS, hotspot sharing), and those who want peace of mind. While it may cost more upfront, it eliminates the worry of running out of data.
    • Consider Hotspot Data Sharing:

Fixed Data Plans: You can share the entire data amount you purchased with other devices.

Unlimited Plans: Hotspot sharing is limited to 500MB per day during the plan's valid days.

Compare Your Needs: If you prioritize budget control, share data a lot with other devices, go with a fixed plan. If flexibility and worry-free usage are more important, and mainly use the data on your phone,  an unlimited plan is the best option.

  4. Does personal ID information needed to use RORO data plan?

RORO does not require or store any personal ID information.

Generally, personal ID information is not needed to use a RORO data plan.

However, due to local regulations, ID verification is necessary in China's Hong Kong and Chinese Taiwan. After arriving and activating your data plan in these regions, you will receive a message with instructions on where and how to register your information. This information is required by local authorities, not by RORO.

Other countries or regions covered by RORO data plans do not have such requirements.

  5. How can I know how much data I will need?

To estimate your data needs, consider your daily activities:

    • Light Usage: Browsing, emails, social media – ~0.5 - 1GB/day.
    • Moderate Usage: GPS, video calls, light streaming – ~1 - 3GB/day.
    • Heavy Usage: Streaming, large downloads, hotspot sharing – ~3GB+/day.

For a more accurate idea, monitor your daily data usage over a period of time. Also, consider the internet environment during your trip (e.g., Wi-Fi access, outdoor vs. indoor time). As a safe choice, you can start with a smaller plan and use our top-up solution if you need more data.

  6. How can I test or check how much data I use per day?

You can monitor your daily data usage directly through your smartphone:

    • iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Usageto see how much data you've used within a specific period. Reset the data statistics at the start of the day to monitor daily usage.
    • Android: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Data Usage. Here, you can view your data usage and set a limit or reset to track daily use.

Additionally, some mobile apps can provide detailed daily reports of your data consumption.

You can easily check your daily data usage through your online account on our website or app if you purchased your eSIM data plan online. Simply log into your account and navigate to the data usage section, where you can view your current usage details.

For eSIMs or SIM cards purchased through physical stores or corporate sales, if you have linked your card to your online account and purchased additional data or recharged through our website or app, you can also check your data usage online.

Please note: For data plans purchased offline at physical stores, real-time data usage tracking is not available online. You’ll need to check your usage directly through your device settings.

  10. What do Local, Regional and Global means?

RORO data plans are divided into three main categories based on the countries or regions they cover: Local, Regional, and Global.

Local: A local data plan provides coverage within a specific country or area. This is ideal if you're only traveling to one location and need data for that country alone.

Regional: A regional data plan covers multiple countries within a specific geographic region, such as Europe or Southeast Asia. This is great for travelers visiting several countries in the same region in one trip, as you can stay connected without needing multiple plans.

Global: A global data plan provides coverage in a large number of countries around the world. This plan is perfect for frequent travelers or those visiting multiple regions, allowing you to use one plan across many countries without needing to switch.

Choose a plan based on your travel destinations and data needs!

  12. What is a fixed data plan?

A fixed data plan provides a set amount of data (e.g., 1GB, 5GB, etc.) that is valid for a specified number of days. This type of plan is ideal for short trips or users with moderate data needs, as it helps control costs by only charging for the data you need. However, once the allocated data is used up or the plan expires, you’ll need to top-up to continue using the service. Note that any unused data will expire and cannot be refunded or carried over.

Additionally, a fixed data plan allows you to share the full data amount via hotspot with other devices, making it perfect for users with data-sharing needs.

    Example:  1GB  7 Days

    • 1GB: This plan includes a total of 1GB of data.
    • 7 Days: The data is valid for 7 days from the moment of activation. After 7 days, the plan will expire, and the service will stop. You will need to purchase a new plan to continue using data.

The validity period starts when the RORO eSIM or physical SIM connects to a supported network in the coverage area. To maximize the validity period, we recommend activating the plan after arriving at your destination. You need to activate the plan within 180 days after purchase, otherwise the plan will be expired and no refund available.

When selecting a fixed data plan, consider both the amount of data and the validity period to ensure it covers the length of your stay and your data usage needs. You can also take advantage of our convenient top-up feature, which allows you to start with an initial plan and add more data or days if needed later.

  13. How will my RORO eSIM be delivered after purchase?

After purchasing a RORO eSIM, you will receive an email containing a QR code for installation together with the info for manual installation.

This email will also include instructions on how to set up and activate your eSIM. Be sure to have a stable internet connection while installing. The eSIM can be installed directly by scanning the QR code using your device.

Additionally, after purchase, the eSIM installation information can also be found on the My SIMs page after logging into our website or the RORO app.

Since the eSIM is installed via the internet, no physical package will be sent; all information is delivered via email only. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, our 24/7 customer support team is available to help.

  14. What is an unlimited data plan?

An unlimited data plan allows you to use data without worrying about hitting a set limit during the plan's validity period. It’s ideal for longer trips or users with high data consumption needs, such as streaming or using GPS. While the plan offers unlimited data, some providers may apply a Fair Usage Policy, meaning that after reaching a daily threshold (e.g., 3GB), speeds may be reduced for the rest of the day, with speeds resetting the following day.

Additionally, unlimited data plans have a daily hotspot sharing limit of 500MB. After reaching this limit, you won’t be able to share more data with other devices for that day.

This plan provides flexibility and peace of mind for those who don’t want to monitor their data usage closely, but it’s important to be aware of these limits on speed and hotspot sharing.

    Example: Unlimited 7 Days

    • Unlimited: Shows this plan includes unlimited amount of data.
    • 7 Days: Shows the plan is valid for 7 days from the moment of activation.

  15. What do the valid days mean?

The "valid days" refer to the number of consecutive days your data plan is active and usable once it has been activated. The validity period starts when your RORO eSIM or physical SIM connects to the supported network in the covered area. For example, if your plan has 7 valid days and you activate it today, it will remain active for 7 days, including the day of activation.

To maximize the use of your plan, it’s best to activate it once you arrive at your destination.

Please note that the purchased plan must be activated within 180 days of the purchase date. If the plan is not activated within this period, it will expire and no refunds will be available.

After the valid days have passed, the data plan will expire, and any unused data will no longer be available.
